Lake Garda, with its enchanting and diverse landscapes, has always been a romantic destination for couples seeking special moments. However, beyond the classic tourist spots, there are lesser-known places that can make your romantic getaway even more unique and unforgettable.
In this article, we will explore four original and alternative destinations, perfect for experiencing romantic moments beyond the ordinary during the winter season.
1 – Stay in the typical barns of Cima Rest

The Val d’Adige is the stretch of the valley traversed by the Adige River, extending from Merano to its entry into the Po Valley just north of Verona. It is located east of Lake Garda, separated by the Monte Baldo mountain range. Its main cities are Bolzano, Trento, Rovereto, and Verona.
Its origin is also linked to the presence of a series of castles and military fortifications, earning this area worldwide recognition as the “Land of Fortresses.” These structures were strategically constructed here because the Val d’Adige has been, for centuries, the connecting route between the Mediterranean world and the Alpine-European region, making it heavily guarded and contested. Lake Toblino is a small alpine lake located in Trentino at 245 meters above sea level, surrounded by a beautiful walk along a lush reed bed and dominated by the homonymous Castel Toblino.
