Suspended between sky and lake: the breathtaking Limone sul Garda cycle path that captivates the world

Suspended between rock and water, this stretch of the Lake Garda pedestrian and cycle path is deemed one of the world's most beautiful and scenic

The Limone sul Garda (BS) pedestrian and cycle path was inaugurated in 2018. In the next two years, the final stretch connecting it to Riva del Garda (TN) will be completed.

The cliffside stretch is a marvelous example of engineering, spanning 2.5 km, epitomizing the concept of slow tourism: it will be impossible not to stop meter after meter to admire the enchanting panorama unfolding before you, enjoy the breeze from the Garda winds, the sound of the waves, and the beauty of nature.

Useful tips to know before heading to the Limone sul Garda Pedestrian and Cycle Path.

Firstly, we recommend parking in the town of Limone sul Garda (there are only about ten parking spaces on the Garda state road near the entrance of the path, and it’s very difficult to find a spot, especially in high season).

This will allow you to have a beautiful day trip through the town center until you reach, at the end of the main promenade on the left, the panoramic road of Capo Reamol that will offer breathtaking views of coves with crystal-clear waters and ancient lemon groves, leading you to the beginning of the cycle path.

This round trip is about 11 km, slightly uphill on the way there. It is perfectly suitable for families with children, even small ones in strollers. The only thing to keep in mind is that the last stretch is completely in the sun, so bring hats and everything you need.

The only refreshment points you can find are in Limone sul Garda. So remember to stock up on fresh water or indulge in good local food in the town center, where you will find many bars, restaurants, and shops of all kinds.

Another tip is to walk along the pedestrian and cycle path, especially in high season.

Since it’s a relatively short walk, this will allow you to fully enjoy the panorama without the risk of moving at a slow pace with the bike when the crowds are high.

The pedestrian and cycle path is accessible at all times, even at night, as it is illuminated by LED lights that outline the silhouette of the road. There are no public restrooms.

It can be reached from the eastern shore via the ferry departing from Malcesine (which also transports cars, motorcycles, and bicycles).

We leave you with the heartfelt advice: go there as soon as possible! You will recharge with the energy that only nature, with its magnificence, can provide.

According to the art of onomancy, the meaning of my name is described as follows: "it lives in the woods, sylvan and wild". Sometimes fate knows the way before you, and forges you with the most akin experiences. I live in the heart of Lake Garda in Castelletto di Brenzone. Passionate about trekking, photography and writing, which I combine in small adventures. If you are looking for me, you will find me in the forest overlooking the lake... with my Roberto and Gea.
